Grade One
A year of strong roots and wide-open discovery.
Grade One lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning through four thoughtfully designed curricula in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Each subject is complete on its own—and intentionally designed to connect when families choose to use them together.
Four subjects. One thoughtfully connected year.
Oak & Atlas Grade One includes four complete subject curricula, each with its own intentional sequence of skills and knowledge. Families can use any subject independently—or use all four together for a learning experience designed to make meaningful connections across the day.
Connections across subjects are built where they deepen understanding—not simply because topics happen to share a theme. A science observation might become meaningful writing practice. A map introduced in social studies might strengthen mathematical thinking. A story might open the door to a question worth investigating.
Each subject still follows its own intentional progression, so families never have to choose between strong academics and connected learning.
Learning that connects naturally.
Built for curious minds.
First graders are natural observers, questioners, storytellers, builders, and explorers. Oak & Atlas is designed to make room for all of it.
Children build essential academic skills through purposeful reading and writing, hands-on investigation, mathematical thinking, conversation, creativity, and meaningful work with the world around them. Lessons are designed to invite curiosity without losing sight of what children need to know and be able to do.
Strong academics give children roots.
Curiosity gives them somewhere to grow.
THE WORLD OF OAK & ATLAS
Meet four fellow learners.
Throughout Grade One, learners will encounter Silas, Mina, Theo, and Elena—four longtime friends whose questions, discoveries, mistakes, ideas, and adventures become part of the world of Oak & Atlas.
They aren't mascots, guides, or teachers. They're children learning too. Students might examine a map they've drawn, read a note they've written, consider the results of an experiment, notice a mistake in their work, or follow a question they're trying to answer.
Their world gives learning continuity and character while leaving your child at the center of the experience.
