Kindergarten

Where strong roots and wide-open discovery begin.

Kindergarten is a year of remarkable growth, when curiosity, play, and purposeful instruction come together to build the foundations for lifelong learning.

Oak & Atlas Learning is developing a thoughtfully connected kindergarten curriculum across four core subjects: English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Each subject follows its own intentional progression and can stand independently, while all four connect through shared experiences, meaningful discoveries, and the world of Oakridge.

Four subjects. One thoughtfully connected journey.

Oak & Atlas Kindergarten brings together four complete subject curricula, each designed to build essential skills and knowledge through developmentally appropriate instruction.

Families can choose individual subjects or bring all four together for a connected learning experience. Our flexible four-day instructional week leaves room for optional Open Atlas Fridays, with hands-on exploration and opportunities to follow children's curiosity.

Learning that connects naturally.

Connections across subjects are built where they deepen understanding, not simply because topics happen to share a theme.

A science observation might become an opportunity to practice drawing, labeling, or writing. Counting and comparing objects collected outdoors can strengthen mathematical thinking. A story might introduce a question about the world that children investigate through hands-on discovery.

Each subject still follows its own intentional progression, so families never have to choose between strong academics and connected learning.

Built for curious minds.

Kindergartners are natural observers, questioners, storytellers, builders, and explorers. Oak & Atlas is designed to make room for all of it.

Children develop essential foundational skills through explicit instruction, meaningful stories, hands-on investigation, mathematical reasoning, conversation, creativity, and purposeful exploration.

Lessons are designed to honor children's curiosity while providing the structure, practice, and academic depth they need to grow.

Strong academics give children roots.
Curiosity gives them somewhere to grow.

THE WORLD OF OAK & ATLAS

Meet four fellow learners.

Throughout kindergarten, children will encounter Silas, Mina, Theo, and Elena—four longtime friends whose questions, discoveries, mistakes, ideas, and adventures unfold in the world of Oakridge.

They aren't mascots, guides, or teachers. They're children learning too. Students might examine a map they've drawn, read a message they've written, investigate a discovery they've made, or help them think through a problem.

Their world gives learning continuity and character while leaving your child at the center of the experience.

KINDERGARTEN IS TAKING ROOT

Help shape what’s growing.

Oak & Atlas Kindergarten is currently in development, with a second-semester pilot beginning in January 2027.

We're inviting a small group of homeschooling families to experience our curriculum at no cost and share feedback as we refine it.

Families may apply to pilot the complete four-subject curriculum or an individual subject.
